December 15, 1956 – June 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that the family of William “Bill” Warden Sabean announce his passing on June 24, 2026, at the age of 69.
Born in Nova Scotia on December 15, 1956, Bill lived a life centered on family, laughter, and creating lasting memories with those he loved. He was a kind-hearted and charismatic man whose warm personality and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met. A natural jokester, Bill was always looking for a way to make people smile, whether through a clever remark, a playful joke, or simply by sharing his infectious laugh.
Bill will be reunited with his beloved wife, Wendy Lynn Sabean, the love of his life. Their bond was one built on faith, devotion, companionship, and unwavering love. He was also predeceased by his parents Warden and Elva Sabean, sisters, Marlene Sabean and Gladys Vandernberghe, and by his brother, Bill Vandenberghe.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lori Sabean, Melissa Sabean, and Anthony Sabean; his grandchildren, Austin Sabean, Alex “Billy” Sabean, Dillin Sabean, Aaliyah Sabean, Khyla Sabean, Armoni Sabean, and Sierra Sabean; and his great-grandchildren, Liam, Damian, Kimberly, Natalie, Aurora, William, and Everley. He will also be lovingly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, as well as life long friend Freddy (Fuad) Alizadeh.
For 36 years, Bill worked as a taxi driver, a career that suited his outgoing personality perfectly. He genuinely enjoyed meeting new people and hearing their stories. Whether he was driving a regular customer or someone he had just met, Bill treated everyone with kindness and respect. Many passengers came to know him not only as their driver, but as a friendly face who could brighten their day with a joke, a conversation, or a warm smile. At the end of every ride, he was known for saying, “Thank you, have a good day – or night. God bless you.” Those simple words reflected the kindness and goodwill he carried throughout his life.
Bill found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved to doodle and could often be found sketching just about anything that caught his imagination. He enjoyed playing cards and treasured the many hours spent with family and friends around the table. Some of his happiest moments were spent on family drives. Whether heading out to Grand Bay, where he grew up, stopping for a treat at Dairy Queen, taking the various ferries out to the Kingston Peninsula, or simply setting out on the open road with no destination in mind. For Bill, it was never about where the journey ended, but about the people beside him along the way.
Above all else, Bill was a devoted family man. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Family always came first, and he worked hard to ensure those he loved knew how much they meant to him. His kindness, laughter, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bill’s legacy lives on in the memories he created, and the laughter he shared. Though he is gone from our sight, he will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
