Saint John police officers among the witness on the fourth day of the Dennis Oland second-degree murder trial.
The Crown asks about the day Richard Oland’s body was found, July 7th, 2011.
Constable Don Shannon describes how he conducted an article search in the area around 52 Canterbury street and another block in the uptown but he didn’t find anything.
Crown lawyer Jill Knee asks him if he noticed any blood in the office and he says only what was around the body.
Shannon asked if he used any washrooms in the building “ No I did not”.

Acting Patrol Sergeant Stan Miller was told to canvass the area from bottom of King Street and worked his way up to Canterbury looking for security video footage.

Earlier, the Crown called Stan Miller who acting patrol sergeant at the time. He remembers heading to the scene at 9:20 a.m.
Miller says when he arrived he saw a body lying on its right side with right cheek against the floor and when he left he saw three other officers in the foyer.
On cross-examination, Jamie McConnell of the defence asks Miller if anyone from the force asked to check his footwear and he responds, “I do not recall”.
