The Conservative energy critic finds the current predicament of the Energy East pipeline project “deeply disappointing”. Saint John East MLA Glen Savoie says it’s a very important project for this region. He points out that Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynn and Quebec Premier Phillipe Couillard were very critical of the project, and Premier Brian Gallant was right there with them agreeing with what they were saying and not defending the interests of the people in his province. Savoie says Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is afraid of Quebec, who strongly oppose Energy East, adding the Trudeau government approved the Northern Gateway and Keystone pipelines but made the rules tougher for Energy East.
