Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long paid the price this week for standing up for his constituents during a whip vote in the House of Commons.
Long was the only Liberal MP who supported the Conservative motion to extend the consultation period for the Trudeau’s governments proposed tax changes.
As a result Long has been turfed from two parliamentary committees he was serving on, including one that included poverty reduction issues which is very important in Saint John.
A movement is underway to have him re-instated with a petition now online calling for the Prime Minister to bring Wayne Long back into the fold.
You can go to change.org and look for a petition called Justin Trudeau Get Wayne Long Re-Instated To Parliamentary Committees. They are hoping to get 5,000 signatures.
