Supporters and friends came to the Saint John airport to welcome Wayne Long home after a difficult week.
Our local MP Long will be arriving home this afternoon after a tough week in Ottawa. Wayne has truly stepped up… https://t.co/4UQmVQ7r3B

The Saint John-Rothesay MP voted against his party on a bill to extend the consultation period on another bill on possible tax changes and in doing so he was removed from two committees but he also got a lot of support from across the country for standing up for his constituents.
We asked MP Long if he will do this again and he tells us it would depend on what the motion would be.
He says he sees movement on behalf of the government and he sees an opportunity to make a lot of ammendments to these proposals so he is hopeful something will be put forward that everyone is comfortable with.
Long says he doesn’t revel in being a rebel or maverick MP and in many ways it will be business as usual when he goes back in a couple of weeks.
