Phase Two Of Fundy Trail Parkway Set To Open

Another section of roadway featuring spectacular views of the Bay of Fundy will officially open to traffic on Sunday.

Phase Two of the Fundy Trail Parkway has been completed.

Jane Boyle, president of the Fundy Trail Development Authority, says the scenic drive will now continue beyond Long Beach.

“The second phase will taken them (drivers) inland into the parkway. So you’ll still come along the coastal route and then you will end up at McCumber Brook,” she says.

A number of festivities for the whole family are planned for the grand opening of Phase Two on Sunday including free admission along with a car cruise, guided tours, music, and a market.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is set for 1pm.

The parkway begins at St. Martins and currently drivers must turn around at McCumber Brook but the ultimate goal is to extend it to Fundy National Park.
