Both levels of government are on the same page when it comes to opposing Softwood Lumber tariffs.
Provincial Treasury Board president Roger Melanson admits it’s a big concern but he says we should keep in mind the decision made in May is preliminary.
Melanson says the final decision will come in the fall, and in the meantime, a lot of work is happening with global affairs and the Federal government.
Federal International Trade Minister Francois-Phillipe Champagne says this issue has a Team Canada approach.
Champagne says they will be relentless in defending the rights of workers of Canadian families.
He says it’s a very important industry for New Brunswick and the whole country.
