The Town of St. Stephen has it’s first candidate for Mayor.
Current Town Councillor, Abby Pond has officially entered her name in the municipal race for Mayor.
Pond says once current St. Stephen Mayor John Quartermain said he would not be running for Mayor, people started asking her if she would go for the position.
She tells us she has enjoyed her time on Council, and running for Mayor was not something she had originally thought about. But, Pond says, after receiving enough support she decided to give the campaign trail a try, and run for Mayor.
The municipal election will be held May 9th.
