UPDATED: Power Restored In West Saint John

**Updated at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday**

Power has been restored to hundreds of homes and businesses on the west side of Saint John.

Saint John Energy first posted about the outage on its social media account around 12:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Crews quickly restored power to more than half of the customers but were forced to stand down due to lightning strikes.

The remaining 900 customers had their power restored by 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to the utility.
