Premier Wants To Make Roads Safer For Cyclists

Premier Brian Gallant is offering condolences to the family of Ellen Watters, the well known cyclist, who died in hospital after being hurt in a crash with a motorist in Sussex just before Christmas.

Gallant calls her death a loss for the province and the whole country and he says they look forward to working with community leaders on this.

Gallant says he knows some cabinet ministers have already been talking to community leaders on cycling safety and hopes from this terrible tragedy, something positive happen.

The Mayors of Saint John, Moncton and Fredericton have come out in favour of Ellen`s Law that would require drivers to stay at least a metre away fronm cyclists on the roads.
