Roads in Hampton will be getting a bit of a facelift thanks to more than $3-million in provincial money for paving and chip seal projects.
Transportation and infrastructure minister Bill Fraser tells us this year they’ll pave a 4.6 kilometre stretch of Route 111, from the Base Road to the Old Gardner Creek Road.
Sections of Route 820, Bonney Road, Cort Road, Damascus Road, Hall Road, Hayward Road and Robertson Road will be getting some chip seal. As well, the province has teamed up with the town of Hampton to pave 700 metres of Main Street.
“The number one priority for the town council and the mayor of Hampton was Main Street, so we were very pleased to inform mayor and council their request was approved,” says Fraser.
Fraser says all the work will be completed over the summer construction season.
