The provincial government is stepping up their game in protecting wildlife from rabies.
Last year, 200,000 oral rabies vaccines were distributed in Charlotte County. This year, that number is up to 500,000, and will now include areas such as Saint John and Fredericton.
Since 2014, 26 cases of rabies were reported in Charlotte County, with one other case in McAdam.
So far in 2016, only one case has been reported in the province, that was in Elmsville, back in February.
The aerial and hand-baiting program will be done in Charlotte County this month.
