Québec teen killed in Bathurst crash

Mounties are investigating a two-vehicle crash in northeastern New Brunswick that left a 17-year-old boy dead.

First responders were called to the scene on Route 11 near the King Avenue exit in Bathurst just after 2 p.m. Monday.

“The collision is believed to have occurred when the car, travelling northbound on Route 11, crossed over the center line and struck the trailer of the truck, travelling in the southbound lane,” RCMP said in a news release on Tuesday.

The driver of the car, who was from the northern suburbs of Montréal, died at the scene from his injuries.

The passenger in the car and the two people in the truck suffered what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
