Repairing Harbour Passage Will Cost More

Harbour Passage is in need of some sprucing up but, if Common Council approves, it will cost more than originally estimated.

Councillors are being asked to approve the expenditure of more than 847 thousand dollars on repairs, asphalting and the application of cranberry coating from York Point to Bentley Street.

The original estimate was 750 thousand dollars but the cost has risen since then partially because of the decline in the value of the Canadian dollar.

The money will come out of the budget for parks and public spaces. City Staff claims the additional dollars can be covered because other projects have come in considerably under budget.
