Federal Natural Resources Minister Greg Rickford has been on the job for six months, and he’s touring around the country getting briefed on our energy future.
For him, that means a big role for the Energy East pipeline. He tells us there’s a 99.9% safety record for 72-thousand kilometers of pipeline.
Rickford says some countries that get 100-percent of their energy from Russia have had the integrity of their supply compromised and Canada wants to be a leader in supplying it.
