A Rothesay Town Councillor was not too impressed with an idea that came from the Kennebcasis Region Joint Board of Police Commissions recent meeting.
It concerned the use of all season tires on emergency vehicles instead of snow tires.
Councillor Bill McGuire says that is the wrong thing to do because it would compromise safety.
He says having all seasons on emergency vehicles and especially pursuit vehicles would simply not work.
He also told the council the amount of money that would be saved by not having snow tires would be offset when one cruiser ends up smashed in a ditch.
This will now go back to the commission for further analysis.
