Saint John signing a pledge to become a breastfeeding friendly community.
Horizon Health Dietitian Giselle Powell says breastfeeding offers a lot of benefits and it shouldn’t be discouraged.
Powell says an initiative is going on right now with breastfeeding friendly restaurants, where owners are encouraged to pledge support to become breastfeeding friendly places.
Saint John is the first major city to get on board with the initiative.
Other areas on board with the initiative include Quispamsis, Rothesay and Grand Bay-Westfield.
