An appeal by 29-year-old Curtis Bonnell on his first degree murder conviction in the death of his cousin, 16 year old Hilary Bonnell in 2009, has been rejected by the Supreme Court of Canada.
The appeal was filed in the areas of charges to the jury, criminal law and evidence.
The New Brunswick Court of Appeal ruled against overturning Curtis Bonnell’s conviction earlier this year which led him to the Supreme Court of Canada.
It’s believed that Hilary Bonnell died around September 5, 2009 near the Burnt Church First Nation.
Her body was found buried in woods in a former military firing range.
