In one of two trades on Monday the Saint John Sea Dogs acquired Nathan Larose, a six foot one 186 pound defenceman from the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.
Larose, from Mirabel, Quebec turns 17 next month and was selected in the second round of the 2016 Q-league entry draft.
The Sea Dogs will send a 2018 second-round draft pick, 2019 third- round draft pick and a 2020 sixth- round draft pick to the Sagueneens.
In order to make room for Larose, Jack McGovern is packing his bags for Halifax to join the Mooseheads.
