From Bookmobile to Command Post.
The Charlotte County Ground Search & Rescue team have aquired a 2003 Bluebird bus from the provincial government to help with their operations.
Charlotte-Campobello MLA John Ames says the Bookmobile service was discontinued in last year’s provincial budget, “The vehicles that were used in the Bookmobile program, between myself and the Ground Search and Rescue members, we were able to work together, and now they have a new bus for their disposal, to use as they see fit.”
The team will use the bus as a command post and equipment trailer, which will greatly enhance their abilities during search and rescue operations.
Several large pieces of rescue equipment are still needed, however, and a major fundraising drive is planned for this summer in order to renovate the bus.
