Saint John Police putting out a warning about two recent cases where an unknown substance may have been put in a person’s beverage.
The substance may have been a liquid or a powder.
The police warn the substance can be odorless and often undetectable.
It can include side effects like amnesia, agitation, nausea, dizziness and in some cases death.
Often people will seem as if they are drunk.
The police want folks to use care and good judgement as students return to college and university.
They suggest while attending parties to not leave food or drinks unattended and don’t accept drinks that may have been tampered with.
