Sea Dogs captain Spencer Smallman has a 3 year deal with the Carolina Hurricanes.
Smallman was born in Summerside and raised in Fredericton and has been with the Sea Dogs for five seasons.
In his time with Saint John, the 20 year old has 86 goals and 137 assists for 223 points.
He’s played 293 playoff games which is the highest in franchise history.
Round 2 of the Q league playoffs start next Friday at 7pm at Harbour Station with the opponent yet to be determined.
