Social Science Professor Blames Very Misogynistic Time We Are In For Less Progress On Violence Against Women.

We’re living through a very misogynistic time according to a social science professor at UNB Saint John.

Dr. Chris Doron says that yes there has been progress when it comes to dealing with violence against women in Canada but it’s been sort of a one step forward two steps back sort of situation.

He points to the Silent Witness Project which features red silhouettes each representing a woman who was murdered by a husband, common-law partner, boyfriend or intimate acquaintance.

He says when it was started there were only six or seven and now there are more than thirty.

Dr. Doron was a member of the organizing committee for the 28th anniversary memorial event of the Montreal Massacre in Saint John.
