The U.S. Commerce Department has determined the final countervailing and anti-dumping tariffs on softwood lumber exports from Canada.
The final countervailing duty for J.D. Irving has been calculated at 3.34 per cent. When taken together with the anti-dumping rate, the total tariff for J.D. Irving will increase a bit to almost 10 per cent.
Certain softwood lumber products certified by the Atlantic Lumber Board as being from Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador have been excluded.
