The question whether Liberal MLA Donald Arsenault is in a conflict of interest is heating up in the Legislature.
Provincial Conservative leader Blaine Higgs is calling it a scandal and Rothesay MLA Ted Flemming wants a formal inquiry convened with the calling of witnesses.
Premier Brian Gallant says Arsenault has been given the choice of remaining as an MLA or taking up his job as government relations manager with the building trades. The Premier adds he’s willing to work with the opposition to strenthen the conflict of interest law.
Transportation Minister Bill Fraser claims he has been the acting Labour Minister since the summer.
