City Police were involved in a standoff on St. James Street in the south end last night.
It began around 9:00 when they tried to make an arrest for a robbery that had been reported recently at the same location.
Members of the police tactical team were called and the incident ended around 2:30 this morning when two men and one woman were arrested.
Two other people were also arrested on unrelated charges.
