The Steeves 250 family reunion attempted to break a Guiness World Record on Saturday.
But in the end, organizers say a large gathering at the Moncton Coliseum didn’t quite make it.
The Steeves family attempted to break a world record for the largest gathering of people with the same last name in the same room at the same time.
Organizers say 937 Steeves family members were officially counted.
However, the number to beat was 1,488 which was set by the Gallagher family in Ireland in 2007.
The Steeves 250 family reunion continues this week in Moncton and Hillsborough marking the 250th anniversary of the family’s arrival in Southeast New Brunswick.
