As the census showed, the population of New Brunswick declined from 2011 to 2016 so it should comes as no surprise when the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission reports New Brunswick had a 3.6 per cent enrolment drop in 2015/2016 with more than 19 thousand 300 students at university.
The largest decline at 5.5 per cent was among international students while the enrolment of New Brunswickers went down by 4.4 per cent.
Over the previous year, the population of 18 to 24 year olds in the region declined by 2.2 per cent.
