The community of Moncton continues to rally behind the parents of a little boy with a rare disease.
Nine month old Baby Zaccari is one of two children in the Maritimes in the past 15 years diagnosed with Congenital Nephrotic syndrome.
He is currently stage 4 renal failure and it is anticipated he will have to Start dialysis in as little as the next 3 months, and may require a kidney transplant…
He has spent the majority of his life at the IWK in Halifax.
His mom Ashley says this has been a life altering event for the family.
“It’s has been a roller coaster of emotions, because we don’t know how long before he goes into Stage five which is complete renal failure. We knew that this was coming, but we thought it would be a year from now.”
She says the support from family, friends, doctors and nurses has been overwhelming.
