Victoria Clarke of Discover Saint John tells us they were looking for Canada 150 investment and they suggested a contest figuring out what you can create with a shipping container and $4000.
Clarke says they got a lot of creative submissions and narrowed it down to 5.
She says one of the shipping containers will be a garden centre and it will have all the tools required for gardening inside and the entire exterior surface will be planted.
Another practical submission is a bicycle repair shop while another is called “Dot Spot” and will be full of holes.
The 2017 version of the Area 506 festival includes a family zone with all kinds of activities for the kids.
It’s coming up August 5th and 6th on Long Wharf.
