Queen Elizabeth the second marks over 63 years on the throne surpassing Queen Victoria as the longest serving monarch.

Cultural Affairs Officer Bernard Cormier tells CHSJ News municipalities across the country were asked by the Monarchist League of Canada if they would mark the event and they decided to mark the occaision.

Cormier says the Queen herself won’t be celebrating with no plans to do anything special.

He says those attending will sing God Save the Queen and O Canada.
