The Blue Jays clinched the American League East title for the first time in 22 years with a 15-2 win over Baltimore…..The Yankees failed to secure a playoff spot, losing to the Red Sox in 11 innings, 9-5.
In the West, Houston passed the Los Angeles Angels for the second wildcard after a 7-6 win over Seattle while the Angels lost to Oakland 8-7.
In the National League. St. Louis clinched the Central Division title with an 11-1 win over Pittsburgh. The Pirates and Cubs will face eachother in the one game wildcard playoff.
The New York Mets dodged a bullet when outfielder Yoenis Cespedes was hit by a pitch on the left hand but nothing was broken. Cespedes is hitting .287 with 17 homers and 44 R-B-I’s for the Mets in just two months since being traded by Detroit.
In the NFL tonight, Baltimore takes on Pittsburgh who will have Micheal Vick at quarterback instead of the injured Ben Roethlisberger.
