George Springer hit a two run homer in the 11th inning to give the Houston Astros a 7-6 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2 of the World Series. The series is now tied at one game each. There were eight home runs hit, six of them in the final three innings. The Astros become the first team ever in the World Series to hit three homers in extra innings.
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia underwent knee surgery and is not expected to be ready to play by the beginning of next season.
In the “Q”, Samuel L’Italien scored the winner early in the third period and added another goal in the final minute as the Acadie-Bathurst Titan downed the Saint John Sea Dogs 5-3.
In the NHL, Fredericton’s Jake Allen made 23 saves as St. Louis downs Calgary 5-2 and it was Columbus defeating Buffalo 5-1.
In the NBA, Stephen Curry hit a go ahead three pointer with 31.9 seconds left as the Golden State Warriors rallied for a 117-112 win over the Toronto Raptors. The Warriors trailed by five points with just a minute and a half left in the 4th quarter.
