The World Boxing Organization stripping Floyd Mayweather of the welterweight world title he won by defeating Manny Pacquiao in their fight on May 2 for not complying with the organization’s rules.

Mayweather didn’t pay the $200,000 sanctioning fee from the May 2 fight by the Friday deadline and did not vacate his two junior middleweight titles which he must do because boxers aren’t allowed to hold world championships in multiple weight classes.

In the Majors, the Blue Jays stopping left-hander Chris Sale of the White Sox from becoming the first pitcher to strike out at least 10 batters in nine consecutive innings but they weren’t able to get a victory with Chicago beating Toronto 4-2 in their series opener.
