Two Families Displaced After Weekend Fires

Canadian Red Cross volunteers are assisting two families after weekend fires destroyed their homes.

A family of six lost their house and belongings after a fire on Friday evening in Taymouth, just north of Fredericton.

The couple and their four children, ranging in ages between 6 and 22, are staying with relatives for now.

And two young adults were displaced after a fire destroyed their bungalow around 4 a.m. Sunday morning in South Tetagouche, just west of Bathurst,

A man in his 20s was briefly treated for smoke inhalation at the hospital. A woman was unhurt. Both are staying with relatives.

Red Cross has assisted both families with clothing, food, and other basics.
