Unemployment Rate Rises

More bad economic news for the Harper Government as the national unemployment rate increases to 6.8 per cent with the loss of a thousand jobs in February.

There was also an increase in New Brunswick’s unemployment rate.

It went up from 10 per cent in January to 10.4 per cent last month as the provincial economy lost more than 2,000 jobs.

In Saint John, the unemployment rate stood at 8.8 per cent while the jobless rate in Moncton was 8.6 per cent.
