UPDATE: 27-Year-Old Wanted On Warrant Arrested

Saint John police say a 27-year-old considered unlawfully at large is now back in custody.

Police say Chase Spence was arrested Monday night at a residence on Coburg Street.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Spence last week for violating the conditions of statutory release.

Spence had been living at a community correctional centre in the city.

According to police, Spence was serving a sentence of more than five years and seven months for several convictions, including:

  • aggravated assault
  • assault causing bodily harm
  • assault with a weapon
  • carrying a concealed weapon
  • possession of property obtained by crime
  • possession of a weapon contrary to an order
  • uttering threats to cause death/harm
  • failure to comply with a probation order
  • failure to comply with the conditions of an undertaking/recognizance
