A 25 year old man faces three charges including first degree murder in relation to the death of his mother.
Ryan Ernest Roy was charged in Woodstock court today for the death of 52 year old Phyllis Roy.
RCMP say emergency services were called to a home in Peel, a community north of Hartland, Monday morning, and found the house engulfed in flames.
The body of a woman was found in the wreckage.
Shortly after the fire was reported, officers arrested a man inside a nearby church for break and enter, and a connection was later made between that man and the fire.
Roy faces additional charges of arson, and break and enter, and is in custody until his next court appearance on March 13th.
