Over 100 full-time jobs in Saint John’s IT sector will be announced on Thursday.
Provincial government spokesperson Sheila Lagace says these are high value jobs “with a company that is a world leader in IT. I can’t name the company at the moment because we still want to keep it as a surprise.”
This follows the announcement that IBM is expanding its operations in the province and creating 100 full time cybersecurity jobs in Fredericton over the next three years.
In a news release from the province, Premier Brian Gallant says “the expansion of IBM’s operations in New Brunswick means more valuable IT jobs and a strong foundation for the continued growth of our cybersecurity sector.”
Five years ago the corporation acquired Q1 Labs whose QRadar Security Intelligence Platform was developed in partnership with the University of New Brunswick.
The announcement is happening at Place 400 at 9:30am and will include premier Brian Gallant.
