Republican Congressman Steve Scalise was shot in the hip at a baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia. He is listed in critical condition.
Rep. Scalise was critically injured and remains in critical condition. The other patient is in good condition.

Two Capitol police officers were also wounded.
U.S. President Donald Trump made a statement on the shooting from the White House.
Trump says the assailant died from his injuries adding many lives would have been lost if not for the heroic actions of Capitol police officers who took down the gunman despite being shot themselves.
The office of Steve Scalise, who is from Louisiana, releasing a statement saying he was in good spirits before surgery and spoke to his wife on the phone.
Another man at the practice says the presence of police agencies and the Congressman’s security detail likely saved lives.
