Uptake On Nexus Pass Has Been Slow, Says Premier

Folks who cross the US-Canada border regular for work or pleasure have likely known about the NEXUS card since 2000: the $50 pass that’s good for 5 years, and lets you travel with fewer restrictions, according to Canada Border Services.

Yet according to Premier Brian Gallant, the NEXUS passes aren’t as popular as some officials south of the border would like. He tells CHSJ News the slow uptake on NEXUS came up in his meeting with US Ambassador to Canada Bruce Heyman, who emphasized the benefits of the pass to enhancing international trade.

Gallant says he’s promoting the pass to the business community and all New Brunswickers.
