RNS Building Is Safe After Explosion And Fire

It’s a Monday that Rothesay Netherwood students won’t forget soon.

Crews got a call about a fire on campus in one of the building, forcing an evacuation.

K-V Deputy Fire Chief Dan McCoy says crews responded to a propane leak in the boiler room.

He says there was a significant propane leak in that area which ignited into an explosion and flash fire but no one was injured..

Officials at Rothesay Netherwood have announced its School House building is safe with damage largely confined to the furnace room itself and, by and large, is water damage.
