Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm warning for the Saint John region on this Christmas Day with snow, at times heavy, beginning early this morning, changing to ice pellets mixed with snow near noon hour and then to rain this afternoon with a high of 2.
We’re expecting a total of 15 centimeters of snow and ice pellets. The wind warning has ended but the winds are still forecast to gust as high as 70 kilometers an hour during the day with blowing snow in exposed areas.
Later on, the rain will be mixed with snow changing back to snow before ending tonight. Winds gusting as high as 90 kilometers an hour tonight with a low down to minus 10.
Becoming partly cloudy after midnight but remaining windy with gusts as high as 60 kilometers an hour.
