More NB Red Cross Volunteers Deployed To Saskatchewan

The Canadian Red Cross is sending 11 more volunteers from Atlantic Canada to help out in Saskatchewan – a province which has been hit hard by an intense forest fire season.

Four volunteers are from New Brunswick including Fred Bronn of Riverview, Melody MacMillan of Shediac River along with Debi Gander of Fredericton and Glen Martin of Lower Kingsclear.

The Red Cross says the volunteers will staff emergency shelters and provide other support with more than 13,000 people being evacuated in northern Saskatchewan due to forest fires.

Ten volunteers and one Red Cross staff member from this region were deployed out West last week.
