Poll Shows Federal Liberals Still Popular In Atlantic Canada

If a federal election was called today, 62 percent of Atlantic Canadians say they would vote Liberal according to a recent poll from Corporate Research Associates.

Meantime, 22 percent of respondents would vote for the Conservatives, 12 percent would cast a ballot for the NDP and four percent would choose the Green Party.

Liberal prime minister Justin Trudeau is the preferred party leader at 54 percent which is down slightly from the last survey in November.

Interim Conservative leader Rona Ambrose had 14 percent support, the NDP’s Tom Mulcair captured 11 percent and Green party leader Elizabeth May had six percent support.

Meantime, 65 percent of those polled say they are satisfied with the federal government’s performance which has fallen slightly.

More than 1500 Atlantic Canadian adults were contacted to take part last month.
