Province Rolls Out Program To Help Those Affected By Storm Damage

The provincial government announcing a program to help out New Brunswick residents and business owners who were pummelled by the rainstorm back in September which caused flash flooding in over 70 communities and over $15.3-million in damage to public and private infrastructure.

If you haven’t already gotten in touch with your insurance company you’re advised to do that to see if your damage is covered. If not, you’re asked to contact the Department of Public Safety’s EMO to see if you’re eligible. If you are eligible for the program you have to pay a deductible of $1000 for homeowners and $5000 for small businesses.

Claimants can get up to $120,000 for private homes and a maximum of $500,000 for small businesses and non-profits.
