The Detour On Route 102 Angers Many

Residents are angry in Morrisdale, Oak Point and Lower Greenwhich about work on the Westfield overpass forcing a long detour for eastbound traffic.

The work began August 10th and is expected to last six weeks.

Lisa Baxter of Jodi’s Country Kitchen tells us residents don’t like the detour saying it’s not small taking an extra 20 minutes for a lot of people.

She says the residents feel another lane could have been put in for that very short distance adding you can practically see from one end to the other for that very short detour.

Employees of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure are receiving a lot of angry calls about the detour.

One even posted a sign including DTI’s phone number.
