Fire crews responded to a blaze at 253 Wetmore Creek Road around suppertime last night.
Around 6:45 PM, firefighters found a chimney fire at the home had spread to a porch. They hit it from the outside, and then went in to finish knocking it down and assess the damage. Firefighters ventilated the house and it was returned to the owners.
Twenty-two firefighters responded with three pumpers and a heavy rescue unit. Ambulance NB was on scene as a precaution.
