The funeral for Sergeant Andrew Joseph Doiron is being held today in Ottawa at the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Doiron is a Moncton native, who was killed last week in a friendly fire incident in Iraq.
He was the first Canadian casualty in the Iraq deployment which began last fall and ends this month.
Doiron will be laid to rest at the Beechwood National Cemetery in Ottawa later this afternoon.
