The provincial government is teaming up with Rogers to provide low cost internet for up to 19 thousand families in the province at 10 dollars a month. It’s hoped this will bridge the digital divide between the haves and the have nots in the province.
The President of the Crescent Valley Tenants Association, Janet McLaughlin says without having access to the internet puts young people at a disadvantage when it comes to their schooling.
The Minister responsible for Poverty Reduction, Dr. Ed Doherty says adults will be able to enroll in online training programmes.
